1. How long does therapy usually last?

Therapy is individualized it can be short-term (focused on a specific issue) or longer-term (deeper self-exploration and ongoing support). We’ll decide together what feels most helpful for you.

2. Do you meet in person or online?

I currently offer virtual sessions for clients who prefer the flexibility of online therapy.

3. What is your therapeutic approach?

My style is collaborative, compassionate, and multicultural, drawing on my background in special education and my international clinical experience. I use evidence-based techniques while also tailoring sessions to each client’s unique goals, culture, and life experience.

4. How do I know if therapy is right for me or my child?

If you’re child is feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to navigate challenges in their personal, academic, or family life, therapy can provide the tools and space to process and grow. The first session is a chance to explore your needs and see if working together feels like a good fit.

5. Do you involve parents when working with teens?

Yes—while I respect and protect a teen’s confidentiality, I also believe in the importance of family connection. With the teen’s consent, I may collaborate with parents to strengthen communication and create a supportive home environment.

6. How do I get started?

You can contact me directly to schedule an initial consultation. During this first meeting, we’ll discuss your concerns, goals, and next steps to see how I can best support you.

7. How long are the sessions?

Depending on your schedule and needs I offer 30 minute or 50 minute sessions. I also offer bi-weekly as an option for those who are unable to commit to weekly.

8. Do I accept insurance?

At this time, I do not accept insurance. However, I offer a temporary sliding scale to make therapy more accessible for individuals and families who may need financial flexibility.

9. What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions about your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. It’s also a chance for you to ask me questions and see if I feel like the right fit for your needs.

10. What ages do you work with?

I specialize in working with parents, teenagers, and university students, but I welcome individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds and life stages.

11. Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Everything we discuss in session is kept confidential, with a few legal exceptions (such as risk of harm to self or others, or cases of abuse/neglect). If I am working with a teen, I explain clearly what information stays private and what might be shared with parents in order to maintain trust.

12. How often should I attend therapy?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. Over time, we may adjust to bi-weekly or monthly sessions depending on your needs, progress, and preferences.

13. What is the cancellation policy?

Life happens—I just ask for 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows me to offer the time slot to another client.
